Opportunity to Make Friends

How hard is it to find a friend in a room full of known "Liars"?

I remember one of many times while lying to myself as if I was supposedly also "Growing Up" in the things of God when I would sing and try to stay in harmony with others, "What a friend I have in Jesus".

Only to "Eventually" discover years later my relationship with Jesus was a One Way relationship. One way to mean Jesus was the only in that relationship that had remained "Faithful".

Some might suggest "Well I'm sorry for you but I have many friends"?

My response would be "Are you completely satisfied with "Your" definition of a friend" or have you settled with the closest thing you can find that resembles what YOU have defined as a "Friend"?

How many of those friend(s) do you allow the absolute freedom to remind you of the faithfulness of Jesus who's also Your God sent "Savior" when "You" do fall short of being "Perfected" as if a representative of a "Good" friend?

And how many of those said "Friends" do you then rip to shreds when they do try to exercise that freedom when they "Try" to represent the Goodness of Christ in a NOT so comfortable set of circumstances?

Since this blog is a Christian blog I have zero expectation for those that have armed themselves with the mind that belongs to this world to then at randomly "Agree" with what I suggest.

Even greater I know Jesus proved while He also walked among men and did what He did while knowing He would NOT be received by His own.

Who are you going to believe when ALL wagers are on the table, "God or man"? Are you only content with what defines a friend as long as everything is headed in the same direction of  your personal "Comfort"?

And exactly whose advice was it that lead you into the comfort zone you now find yourself in? How long will that comfort last until something greater comes along you also DON'T understand which continues the disruption process of your comfort zone?

Did Jesus ever disobey His parents? Not in the context mankind tries to understand. Did Jesus ever shame his parents by saying and doing what was not "favorable" in the town? Your answer would be "Yes" if getting placed in prison and then killed for all the wrong reasons brought shame to your parents...

Is it even the "Right" question to ask "Who is the Only perfect person to have walked this earth"?

Would it be more accurately asked "Who was the MOST "Obedient" person to have walked this earth" which also made that man "Perfect"? And to whom was this perfect person "Obedient" to?

Why is it so hard for many to receive in their "Ledger" of the things they also are willing to "Understand" when God tells man "Your ways are not My ways"?

Is it that God's way is impossible or is He suggesting His ways CAN'T be your ways?

Think on these things this way, If not then why does He tell you to "Know Him" and strongly urge you and suggest that You obey Him? And what is divine "Wisdom" and what is Love in a not so obviously dangerous world?

Does man only think to the things God can do that man obviously can NOT also do? Things such as create universes? Create humans whom mankind will never completely figure out? Make a single kernel (seed) of corn produce more corn?

Why are there physical laws in place such as "WHY" does water that's not under pressure boil at 212 degree's instead of 150 or why does water NOT run Uphill? Do you simply accept such things and move on with your personal search for greater comfort?

Consider this as if an unspoken law at work among men, "Why does mankind Lie"? What does a man hope to hide through the use of words which do NOT "Promote" what is otherwise "TRUE"?

Can a man state a lie against what is so easily Obvious such as those things mentioned above? And that because those things simply are "Undeniable" and easily seen?

2 Cor 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
NIV

But yet what does that leave for the corrupt nature of men when mankind considers those things that are NOT so easily seen and accepted? How does this corrupt nature then view opportunity?

Jer 9:3-6
"They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph in the land.

They go from one sin to another; they do not acknowledge me,"declares the LORD. "Beware of your friends; do not trust your brothers. For every brother is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer.

Friend deceives friend , and no one speaks the truth.They have taught their tongues to lie;
they weary themselves with sinning. You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,"declares the LORD.
NIV

Once again why is the perfect example of obedience of Jesus so important in a world where God is otherwise invisible?

Are we only looking for traces of Jesus here in the earth? Much like two kids in the woods who leave bread crumbs so they can find there way OUT?

Matt 26:47-50
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him." Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him.

Jesus replied, "Friend , do what you came for."
NIV

Why won't believers let God show us the bread crumbs He's left when we read God oriented retellings in a book so many refer to as "Holy"?

2 Chron 20:15
He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.
NIV

Who is this army and from what great distance have they come? How do you fight an otherwise invisible enemy?

Exactly how much damage gets done on Gods green earth by way of what a man can't see coming?

Eph 6:12-18
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood , but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
NIV

There is good reason the not so obviously anointed King David did not put on the Armor Saul tried to get Him to wear. It had nothing to with the "Obvious" fact it did not physically fit.

Why? Because God had already told "Prophesied" that His appointed King would come from the tribe of Judah and Not the tribe of Benjamin as was Saul...

Believing in THE God sent Christ is more than miming empty words you do NOT understand and taking a bath that does not make you clean on the inside. And where do YOU find Christ if NOT in You?

Trust in this saying, "Your God given New Spirit wants to be One with Him" even though the mind of your soul when tempted struggles with the desires to be one with this world.

The bottom Line there is a trial by fire and there is eternal destruction by fire, so choose the "Wisdom" of God and ask yourself in a moment of truth, "What does my faith in Christ Truly accomplish?

1 Peter 1:6-7
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith , being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
KJV

  1. A few lines from a poem I wrote a long time ago comes to mind as I read those two verses at the end of your post.

Like a brick that is fired seven times in a kiln
    so must I be purified
for I'll only be like You my Father
when the 'self' in me has died

and I suppose sums up how I must be in this world, regardless of how others might treat me.

  2. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heart Brenda. Persecution for all the "Right" reasons is something only the Lord can orchestrate in a Godly fashion.

  3. That is right, the fiery trials are orchestrated by the Lord, to bring us forth as fine gold. ' But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.' (Job 23 v.10). Then I shall truly be able to say ' My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.'
