Getting to know the real friend in You

Could getting to know the real you be as simple of an exercise of knowing "How" to choose your friends?

That is to say, "Should a friend simply be considered someone that will allow you to be you" OR someone that you're willing to allow to be themselves at any given moment?

When I say "Themselves" I hope to suggest someone that is strong enough to "Act" upon their own impulse even if that means vacating your presence in order to make their point should you over step the boundaries which have defined them as if they truly are your friend.

How true is this proverb, yet only when a brother is defined as one which comes from the same womb?

Prov 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity . NIV

When does someone become an adversary?

Have you ever found something within Your person that's also acting outward as if your own enemy?

What if after reading the passage below you find yourself to be or have been your OWN enemy in a matter?

Have you ever thought that what also might be being suggested, is that in order to truthfully love your self you must also pray for Your self and NOT only for others?

Wouldn't a true friend also be willing to point out that your thinking and or acting in such a manner as if you are an enemy unto yourself?

As if to say there's something coming from within you which also opposes the process where you might otherwise discover a more in depth relationship with your creator as well the "Who" He intended you to become?

Do you always find yourself  "Innocent" when judging others?

Have you been a friend unto yourself by quickly recognizing certain things within you that have caused you to act in a certain manner which also attempt to oppose your justification for having done so?

Matt 13:38-39
The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. NIV

In the event when you were being "Truthful" with yourself after having discovered and then labeled the thing (opinion) at work within YOU, did you also conclude that your thoughts toward God were hostile?

That is to suggest, "under the terms where you actually consider yourself to be His child"?

Have you ever found yourself being internally persecuted for attempting to defend the thoughts and ways of God?

So much that those thoughts and values prove themselves to be sovereign (the things you've allowed to be Lord over you)?

It's way too easy to externalize instructions that were intended to be for us. It's much easier to exempt ourselves to then see instructions as if only applicable to those around us (in the world).

Those type of things being done we truly and deeply say to ourselves that we despise?

If so, then ask yourself, "Am I capable of being or acting out as if my own enemy"?

Matt 5:43-45
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy . But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heavenNIV

Have you ever acted as if your own judge and jury when surveying your own life that has taken on the form of your thoughts and words placed into actions?

Who gets to establish what defines an adversary and who is it that gets to "Enjoy" the definition assigned to the word "Friend"?

Labels are important, yet they're only as important as we are willing to allow their meaning to govern how we act concerning the deeper truth which also "Respects" their meaning.

How might one adopt and put to use the true value found within the word "Sanity"?

Does one simply accept at face value how the world around us labors in order to define it?

I'm of the opinion that said "Life" was intended to be the formal investigation of not only words, but also their divine realization.

That is to say the deeper meaning (truth) found in their midst which then "Take" affect and manifest through us as an identity which then finds itself made ready to be divinely effectual while in this place being called the "World"?

The question still remains though, who gets to sit in the seat as if the CEO seat which presides over the worlds "Word Bank"?

Such a Bank or place of deposit where anything we do say or think can in turn somehow find itself redeemed.

What many fail to ask of themselves is, "What has OR has not been placed in you as if a deposit"?

Many people today seem intimidated by their own thought life.

It's as if they have to either expose themselves to a wide array of surrounding opinions to where their own opinion gets "Lost" OR they have to work over time until they find sweet spot where their own opinion gets more highly esteemed above and beyond others.

Alone should be redefined as "Time spent time with our own undisturbed thoughts".

Dis-tractions which can rob us of the opportunity where we actually do get to know "Ourselves".

Basically a process where our "Person" which has aged and hopefully matured (i.e. Person-age) also then begins to value time alone where the lessor things fade away even if only for a moment.

I'm also of the opinion which suggest that maturity is a place in time where we can find "Ourselves" as if a place where we've proven our independence.

Such a place where we ARE able to (manufacture) somehow string together a multitude of those tiny moments enough to where we find enjoyment when we really "WANT" to.

They key is? Finding yourself able to accomplish this task alone if need be.

Don't get me wrong as if I'm suggesting being alone is the ONLY way to enjoyment because we all know that would deny our fellow man.

What I'm suggesting as if the question "Who do we rely on from one moment to the next in order to find enjoyment"?

Isa 30:19-21
How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
NIV

I think more often than not people get caught up in the tangled web where the center of their focus gets placed upon "How the world sees them" as opposed to coming to realize the truthful reflection which actually speaks to the ears of our person, "How we see ourselves in the eyes of a creator as if OUR GOD"?

Col 1:27-28
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you , the hope of glory.

We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
NIV

Do we need to discover who the word "Brother" includes?

And do we also need to revisit the word "Everyone" which attempts to suggest the opportunity afforde to all, where only the freedom that is found in Christ then proves to be the grace given?

Having been given such a great task which is then realized impossible without the full magnitude of what God desires accomplished by way of His grace to do so?

Judge for yourself the only friend that is true at all times The only friend that is full of truth that also desires to love you from within.

Consider the thing(s) you've denied about yourself that might also prove to be true in the end. When you do, also understand the "Need" we all have for a savior.....

Jesus the Christ who can save you from the worst of enemies even if it proves to be "Yourself"!

  2. That is the reason for our daily manna on our journey through our wilderness, in order to bring us into the promised land. We have to work out our own salvation, the word is our judge and we are not just to be hearers of it, but doers of that word.
